It has been a down pour of rain here in Diego, the worst I have ever seen. And then after a day of doctor appts in the rain lead to a down pour of tears.. It has taken me a few days to collect my thoughts and attempt a post. Great news first: Started laser treatments 3x's a wk with Dr Specht in Encinitas to try and kill the infection that way.
second: X-rays @ Dr Yaszays looked great, no walking for another 5mos and he took his time to explain it all. He is a Ewings sarcoma survivor and helps us all a great deal.. Still looking for a new Ortho Oncologist, but no one wants to let her keep her leg.. So Lex is battling down for an extra inning game and we are supporting her.
Third: off to Dr Pong the infectious disease specialist, PICC line got pulled, done with IV antibiotics for now, but on to a lifetime of 3,000mg of Amoxicillian a day to keep the leg... Lex is going for it and handling is well so far...
Fourth: We are ever thankful for all the prayers, keep her on all the lists, that the antibiotics keep the infection at bay and bone will grow around her new prosthesis...
Thank you for all the calls, texts & email to support us.. Dinners, CostCo or Henry's card are always helpful most right now.. We have Lex home and keep her comfortable in a hospital bed. Up and about on crutches, but going out in the rain is too dangerous.. Wheelchair makes her life easier and she has resumed home tutoring for school... We have so much to be thankful for and as I say" When I wake knowing I still have my daughter, I can handle anything"!!! It has just been 1yr since the passing of Matthew, Eric & D'mario, so extra prayers for strength for their parents... You can contact me @ johnson.5150@hotmail.com
