Enjoying our first week home. Still busy with all the ' end of treatment scans". The big ones are on the 15th & 17th. Today is a hospital day, Dr's visit, labs, visiting friends & heart echo. Last night Alexis made two recipes from the cookbook. Chicken Cacciatore & Apple crisp. She was exhausted by the end, but we enjoyed a family dinner. Please keep in your prayers, D'mario who fights his final battle, Sarah, and Vince who are recovering from surgery.. And to their parents to have the strength to be the rock their children need. Happy Holidays to all: LOve Donna

Finally made it out of hospital. Effects of chemo started to take its toll on the 14th and kept Lex in the hospital. She had horrible mouth & throat sores that only constant pain meds flowing, gave her any relief. She finally started eating on the 19th and we were able to come home today. She is very weak, but still smiling. It was a very long 17day stay and she will return for her final chemo on Dec. 2nd... We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

Alexis is out of surgery and it was a success. The infection didn't go down into the knee joint! She is on pain meds, but talking and happy it is over. She was able to have her 2nd to last chemo on Monday night, but she will be in a holding pattern for the final one. The great Dr Bowman wants her leg healed before we knock her system down again. We are hoping to have it done the first week in Dec. Thank you for all the prayers, calls & texts.. The cookbook is ready and is amazing. Thank you to Jaime Pellegrino & Michelle Monts for all their hardwork. This has been such an exhausting stay, we are looking forward to getting home sometime this weekend. XXXXX&OOOOO's to all: Donna

Hi everyone sorry I haven't posted in a while I have been sick and in the hospital alot. I am happy to say that I have only 5 more chemos left. Then I am done! Tommorrow I go In for surgery, nothing major just to clean up a staph infection. The surgery is easy and it will only take 30 to 45 minutes. Also tomorrow I have my fifth chemo, I will probaly be in the hospital for a week. I start three week straight of chemo. Which means I will be at the hospital every Tuesday for three weeks, which sucks!!!But Only 5 more left. It was fun going to the Poway Homecoming Game and watching Bubba and Brett play and The whole Poway Football team . Thank you for all your support. Sorry if you have been texting me and I haven't respond. I haven'y felt up to it, I have been ... >> full...

Well, it wasn't a summer at the beach that is for sure! Although before our Dr's visit on Friday I took Lex to see the beach and smell the ocean air. The summer was full of chemo, infections and constant hospital stays. On a good note Alexis started the slow process to get back to walking on Aug. 1st.. It is still with the help of crutches, but to see her upright instead of that awful hospital bed has been a gift.
Alexis of course celebrated her 16th birthday in the hospital, but we were able to bring her home by 7pm that night. She has been exhausted but happy everyday that is not spent at Children's Hospital.
Thank you for all the gifts, cards, calls, texts and meals delievered. Tessa & Maris are back in school and Miss Katelyn is nearing her first birthday.

Hi To All:
It has been a rollercoaster ride these past 13 days. We had pure joy with the outcome of surgery to absolute fear with a fever, infection and her pain. Today we had our first small outing to Scripps Clinic RB for her x-rays. Thank you so much to Jackie, Drew, Bill and Ray for all your help to keep her exam pain free.
Tomorrow is a big day with a visit to Dr Bowman the surgeon and to clinic for weekly blood test/Dr visit. Keeping her out of pain is chore and seeing her in so much pain rips our hearts out. On a happy note, Tessa and Maris are off @ camp and we can't wait to hear their stories when they return on Saturday.
Thank you for all the wonderful dinners, gifts, cards, calls, texts and the most important PRAYERS.. The golf ... >> full...

Surgery was a success. She is pain-free and sleeping. As parents it has been a day of pure joy, something we never thought we would have again. Her doctors were amazed at how smooth it all went with no problems.
Yaya is smiling, talking and happy to be Bionic Lexie now.. Thank you for all the prayers, calls and texts... She is cancer free!!!!.. XXX & OOO's to all......

Hi to all:
Sleep is not what is being found these hours before I send my precious daughter into an ever changing surgery. It is moments of excitment to have this awful cancer out of her and gut wretching fear. And only these tears can fall when she is asleep. How do we do this as parents? Easy we have to show her all our strength and lift her up when she is down. So when we don't answer our calls etc. we don't have the strength, she is getting all we have ..
Alexis spent her last day before the New Bionic Lexie with more choas than one deserves. She woke late, with headaches and pain in her mouth from Chemo. Too pure joy with a visit from our beloved friend Mark Sweeney of the L.A. Dodgers. I have not seen her or Dom smile so ... >> full...
